I'm originally from Dallas, though I managed to escape sans any cultural reference in my voice. I've been living between NY and LA for the last nine years or so, but I'm in the city to stay.

I work a lot sometimes--it's part of my job. My job can be cool. I get to make things and I like that. But, I do attempt to optimize on my free time as much as possible. What do I do? I like to make other things. I take a lot of pictures, I put words on paper and in files, I'm always trying to build something with limited resources and I read a lot. I often find myself in fiction, but I'll read whatever I come across that seems interesting. I love Richard Brautigan, Roberto Bolano, Kenneth Patchen, Tom Robbins and a slew of other crazy guys.

I like the archaic in many forms. I think monocles are cool. I have a deep respect for high-wheeler bicycles. I think it's nice when old ladies rock turbans on the subway. The smell of archaic words is pleasant, though I don't know enough of them.

I find images of disgusting food endlessly fascinating. If your mother is looking to unload a few 1980's microwave cookbooks, consider me a wheelbarrow (especially if there's a Beef & Beans w/ Dumplings picture).
